Kalijodo, this place is truly legendary since time immemorial. All residents of DKI Jakarta especially know about the many stories about this place. Before becoming a place that brought it into a place of localization, this place was a party place for Chinese people.
The Chinese considered that Kalijodo was able to bring fortune to the business. Because of that, Chinese people hold a Peh Cun or Water Feast ceremony on the 100th day of the Chinese calendar. This ceremony lasted until the 1900s. Kalijodo indeed has since become a place to find a mate or buy and sell love. It was also an opportunity for Chinese people when they were having problems to come here, to find a partner.
Kalijodo has become increasingly popular with love buying and selling activities since the closure of the Kramat Tunggak prostitution area in 1999 by the DKI Jakarta government. Kalijodo which is located in Pejagalan Subdistrict, Penjaringan Subdistrict, Jakarta, besides being a place for locating commercial sex workers, is also used as a center for gambling and alcoholic parties.
The age of Kalijodo localization that had existed since the 1600s was initially dominated by Chinese in searching for concubines, but at the beginning of the 20th century Kalijodo began to develop into an entertainment place that was also enjoyed by indigenous and other ethnic groups. But look at this place in the present, initially it was a place for localizing human trafficking and alcohol. Nowadays it has turned into a tourist area that humanizes humans. All circles can visit.
